Sport Without Borders’ Pledge
A universal language of our time, a driver of cohesion and mobilization, a means to bring reassurance and stability, sport is a new vehicle for development, both of the individual and of the community.
All children have the right to play and to participate in sports.
Sports and games are essential activities for the growth and well-being of a child. And yet they are not accessible for thousands of children worldwide living in difficult conditions. Given that many don’t even have access to a traditional school system, participation in sports and games can be indispensable to their development.
Sport Without Borders is committed to defending this fundamental right: every child, irrespective of socio-economic status or the context in which (s)he lives, must have the right to play and to participate in sport.
Sports as a means of helping at-risk populations to rebuild and flourish.
Sport requires a coming together, a dialogue, a building of bridges between people. It is a useful tool to reassure and stabilize the most vulnerable, and it can offer proof of individual balance and fulfillment. Sport is a new vehicle for the social and educational development of individuals and, more specifically, of at-risk populations.
Sport Without Borders is committed to promoting education through sport, working with at-risk populations, and thus contributing to the fight against inequality in our world.
