As its first activity in Palestine, Sport Without Borders is training future young socio-sports leaders who will be able to strengthen the capabilities of local non-profit organisations.
To help set up youth politics in Beit Sahour and to promote communication between the key players in civil society through non-profit organisations, young people and sport.
The town of Beit Sahour is part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It is 80% Christian and, as with other towns in the territory, it faces a mass exodus of its youth due to the deadlock in the political situation.
Surrounded by checkpoints, close to the separation wall in Bethlehem, its young people lack prospects and are often unoccupied and unemployed.

Support programme for non-profit organisations in Beit Sahour These organisations in Beit Sahour currently lack funds and structure. This is why two French local councils decided to help their counterparts in Beit Sahour through a development programme. Our involvement will develop in several stages : - The training of sports leaders. - Raising awareness amongst the managers of these organisations of how sport can be used as a tool for social cohesion. - The selection and then training of future young socio-sports leaders. - Networking of these non-profit organisations and their trained managers, with the local councillors of Beit Sahour.
